I know.... I saw a link to this last night on VO's forums during the move.... I can't believe it, this is not a good thing at all.
I say let's pool all our money together and start a hostile takeover of RedHat so AOL can't buy itComment

actually, its not so bad...
Actually, this may not be so bad.
For example, take ICQ and WinAmp. Both were aquired by AOL. Do you see AOL spewing their logo all over the two? Nope, I don't. In fact, WinAmp was still allowed to be called WinAmp (as opposed to AOL WinAmp or something like that). WinAmp and ICQ production has continued to go on, despite being owned by AOL.
AOL buying RH may not be such a bad thing after all.
BTW, this has been out for several days now, do you any of you read www.slashdot.org?

RedHat is the company that makes the version of Linux (server operating system) that powers the majority of web sites on the net today. This site is powered by RedHat Linux, as are a huge amount of other sites on the net.
The day AOL purchases RedHat will be the day I either stop upgrading to new RH Linux releases or switch to an entirely different distro like SuSeComment
